9:20-10:15 Assessing Student Learning in the School Library Media Center Presenter: Marilyn Scahill Information Specialist Aldrich Elementary School, Millard Public Schools Assessment: What? Who? Why? and How? This overview will present the role of the Library Media Specialist as a partner in assessment and designing instruction to improve student learning. Learn about grouping together, sharing new ideas and presenting them to future MLS meetings. Reviewing objectives, forming groups and establishing goals for the PLCs. Information Literacy Skills: Presenters: Jason Everett, ESU 10 Systems Engineer, and Judy Henning, Kearney Public Schools Director of Media Services. Being Information Literate in the Information Age is important to success in school, the workplace and at home. This begins with making sure Internet resources are valid. Learn strategies students need to know to determine the validity of information found on the world-wide-web. But Information Literacy is so much more than evaluating Internet information. It is taking the information obtained and using it to solve problems using higher level thinking skills.
